Even as we explore these narratives through history, like the Mayan Prophecy of 2012 or fears of nuclear destruction, they manage to seep into the public mind. Cinematic depictions of the apocalypse, such as in "The Day After Tomorrow" or "Mad Max: Fury Road," reflect our intricate relationship with this idea, stirring our inner fears. Whether or not many people want to, we are forced to acknowledge our part in determining the future of these stories.
