Around 1692 moral panic began to emerge - a group of girls starting acting strange and people assumed that they were turning into witches.Town people believed they were possessed by the devil and that they had to be destroyed. These women, men, children, and even dogs were burned at the stake because that was obviously the only way to kill a so called witch. When further time and thought was contributed to these cases/ trials, later it was believed that the behavior was most likely faked. The slow thinking tool of why, what is the logical reason - should have been used here. There was not any solid evidence or facts that directly stated that indeed witches are real.
