For years people have predicted the end of the world. I am not sure if they ever had any evidence that this could actually happen, but they definitely scared a lot of people, only to later find out that the end of the world would be postponed. The doomsday preppers that are referenced in the slides probably were the only calm ones during these accusations besides the non-believers. We are in a time right now, where there may be predictions of the world ending with the coronavirus outbreak, but before this, a lot of people thought that there may be an apocalyptic event like a zombie apocalypse or an asteroid may hit the Earth. Although I do not think that the coronavirus will kill off the entire human population, I am sure that it has crossed people's minds. The end of the world predictions have obviously never been right and I really don't know what makes people think that the end of the world is coming.
