Human memory is really unreliable, because our mind fills in the blanks when a piece goes missing and our memory is highly susceptible to suggestion, so anytime you’re unsure of something and someone offers an answer it may seem right just because your mind is struggling to fill the blank so it might just accept the answer as right. The minds susceptibility to suggestion and to creating false memory is why even though it is so popular to use in the judicial system eyewitness testimony is incredibly unreliable. Psychologists have studied eyewitness identification and testimony extensively and have proven that it is unreliable and leads to false convictions but the criminal justice system continues to rely heavily on it. https://login.ezproxy.stockton.edu/login?URL=http://search.ebscohost.com.ezproxy.stockton.edu/login.aspx?direct=true&db=a9h&AN=9688621&site=ehost-live
