Graphology is the belief that someone's personality can be studied through their handwriting by looking at the size, spacing, or other details of each letter. This is obviously not true but some people believe it works. One blatant reason graphology fails is because handwriting can be improved with practice. Does this mean as our handwriting gets more neat, our personality changes? To me, graphology seems to be caused by the representative heuristic. The video within the lecture explains that companies use graphology to determine who they would like to hire. When using the representative heuristic, we look at the superficial features. This is a lot like judging a book by its cover, which we also know is wrong to do.
