I LOVE cryptids! The Jersey Devil in particular is my
favorite because its Jersey’s very own monster. The origin story behind the
Jersey Devil offers everything for horror/true crime/ cryptid junkies like
myself: murder, monsters & mayhem. If anyone is interested, checkout
episode 314 of The Last Podcast on the Left: The Jersey Devil. It’s a true
crime/ cryptid/ conspiracy/ horror podcast with super dark humor. The Chupacabra is another urban legend that I
have been following since I was a kid because my best friend and I used to
watch YouTube videos about it. I never heard the origin stories of Bigfoot but
I did my own research after reading about the Kwakiutls’ Dsonoqua cannibals!
The study of Cryptozoology fascinates me because as a believer, it’s comforting
to know that some people dedicate their lives to proving these creatures exist.
This lecture was my favorite out of the five.
