Post 3/4 Subliminal messaging
Subliminal audio has come a long way since radio, CD’s, television, and computers. On the subliminal CD video clip, there was mention that you can achieve anything in life through listening to this positive, repetitive self-help process. As a pretty avid golfer, I found it funny that Tiger Woods even played into this, and it gives me hope that perhaps I can take a few strokes off my game as well. Subliminal messaging has even gone as far to say if you want to be rich, you can be, and so can everyone else. This is not realistic, but if one can trick their brain into believing this, and it gives them “extra” motivation in life, then why not.

Lesley,
ReplyDeleteI think one of the coolest things about being a human is having the ability to create our own realities. The placebo effect is incredibly powerful and can have a huge impact on our psyche and overall health if we tune into it enough. I don't like the constant self help rhetoric because it's just as healthy to have bad days and accept them as that than trying to always force happiness. There's always a balance and we need to work on loving ourselves on good days and bad days as well.
