I loved the focus on aromatherapy. I, personally, have had so many people who state that certain smells have certain effects, however I never feel these effects. The amount of scientific evidence that has gone into trying to prove aromatherapy, just to prove it wrong, gives real palpable evidence to the claims made against it. If someone tells me to breath in some lavender in the evening saying it'll help me relax, they may be correct. However, research shows that doing the same with water has the same result. Maybe it is just that the smell may interrupt the thought process that was keeping me awake, or perhaps it was making me breath deeply and slowly. Both effects may help achieve the desired result of sleep.
