Living in Galloway my whole life growing up I always heard about the Jersey Devil. My cousin lived near Leeds ave so at night we would walk over to the street. I remember picking out a random house saying that was the house, knowing darn well we didn't know if that was it at all. Many years later the Kerswy Devil was kind of forgotten about. Not many people would talk about it. Reading the power point and watching the video really brings back memories. I remember going to school will a few Leeds and when we were younger we use to associate then with the Jersey Devil, but like I stated earlier after we grew up it became a memory of the past.
When I watched the video, I also had a lot memories in mind! It's kind of interesting that most of us who lived in South Jersey as kids all heard this particular story! I also find it insane that, we will never actually know if what they have told us is real or not. We will only know if its real if we are in a real life situation with the Jersey Devil. You never thought you seen it before? It's kind of crazy that if we here a certain thing over and over again we start to believe it. Then we start to imagine things. We will never know if what we saw was actually the Jersey Devil.
ReplyDeleteI have lived in New Jersey most of my life and I still to this day don't remember when I first heard about the Jersey Devil. I don't feel the need to tell my young son about it either. The only Jersey Devil I know that is real is the New Jersey Devil hockey team. I'm not a hockey fan but I know the team exists.
ReplyDeleteI remember when I was in the second grade I swore I saw a goat-like creature flying in the sky on the bus ride to school. I believed it was the Jersey Devil, but in actuality I recently learned about the creature and most likely saw a weird looking bird. Just a sleepy second grader with hyper imagination.
