It's the end of the world as we know it, and the Mayans feel fine ...
2012 is upon us. Does this mean the end of the world? What will it be? An alien attack, a asteroid the size of the moon, a zombie attack, or world war 3?The Ancient Mayan clams that on December 21, 2012 a great change will occur. Most people not being educated on the topic assume that this mean the end of the world. However, no where in Mayan prediction do they say END OF EARTH. The Mayan calender states this date as the end of a Great Cycle because it marks the date of a rare alignment of the planets in our solar system and the alignment of our sun with the Milky Way. It's an alignment that won't happen for another 26,000 years. The end of this Great Cycle marks the beginning of a new, and in Mayan explanation from what we know it is a new beginning. Now we don't know for sure if the human race will be involved with that new beginning but the earth will still be here baring human error (ex: nuclear war)
The real question is how did a civilization that built some of the greatest cities and were years ahead of there time predict something like this before any type of modern technology? They still remain one of the worlds greatest mysteries but lets hope the predicted date spawns a new beginning in a good way because 2012 is just around the corner.

Its crazy how many people believe that the end of the world will actually happen in 2012. I'm sure the movie 2012 didnt help either. I agree that more peole should be educated about this topic so they don't have to worry about the end of the world happening in less than 2 years.
ReplyDeleteI don't really know what's going to happen in 2012. It could possibly just a bunch of hype or there could be some truth in it, we are too uninformed to judge. Although I agree that nothing is for sure, I think there's a bit more to it...
